Covino & Rich— Wednesday, 7/18/18
James “Murr” Murray – new book “Awakened” and Impractical Jokers
- Covino and Rich start out the show by touching on last night’s MLB All-star game before diving back into yesterday’s Friend In Need conversation. Covino and Rich have been discussing some FIN situations involving sexting and porn in the digital age and how these things can affect your kids. One listener’s son is seemingly addicted to hardcore porn and struggles to figure out how to curb his habits without stigmatizing sex as a whole. Covino discusses the huge part that developing technologies and accessibility play in all of this. It’s not like the old days where you got your fix from the lingerie section of your mom’s Sears catalogue, kids are going from 0 to 100 real quick these days. Teenagers don’t even know how to court a girl anymore, they just want to send dick pics without needing to muster up the courage to strike up a conversation in person. Blind Brian calls in and Covino and Rich ask him about audio porn and play a sample to see if turns him on.
- Rich is really into the Drake In My Feelings Challenge dance videos going around. He and Covino agree that Will Smith has won with his video on top of a bridge. Turns out there’s a lot of racist news out there today, including Hulk Hogan’s reinstatement to the WWE hall of fame, Papa John’s N-word scandal, and Josh Hader of the Milwaukee Brewers long lost racist tweets. Listeners call in to voice their opinions. In other ran-dumb news there’s a giant ice berg floating dangerously close to small village in Greenland. The guys end the hour discussing Spot’s appearance on Who Want To Be a Millionaire and how difficult shows like that can be when you’re playing in the actual studio as opposed to at home on your couch.
- Rich is really into Cardi B these days but Covino’s not really feeling it. He acknowledges that his tastes in music and comedy are unintentionally sexist. James “Murr” Murray joins the show to talk about his new sci-fi book Awaken and his TruTV show, Impractical Jokers. Murr is a ray of sunshine to be around. The guys end the show discussing an update on Trump’s recent press conference on Putting and his claim that he simply “misspoke” about believing Putin over the US Intelligence Committee.
