I know this is a little late, but things have been busy over at The Covino and Rich Show while we prepare to bring you some awesome new stuff. The Covino and Rich Show was recently out on the west coast bringing you the show live from the 2010 All-Star Fan Fest in Anaheim, California. Lets recap what went on at the All-Star Fan Fest.
To start off the guys got into a discussion about sports movies. This discussion brought us to an important question. How much sports should your woman know? The consensus we reached said that girls should know a little bit but not be Mrs. Statboy. I know a few girls that live an breath sports teams and I won’t lie it comes off as being unattractive. While The Show is on the wast coast, it just so happens that the hotel Spot and Rich were staying at was literally walking distance to Disney World. So with some free tickets in hand Spot and Rich took a trip into Disney. Covino was quick to lay into them say that it is pretty yagadosh for two guys to go to Disney Land together. While a lot listeners called in and gave good points on both sides, the ruling is still out out.
Hmm maybe its not ok to go with your guy buddy.
On Monday the guys also started their annual Fan Fest Challenges. The first one was the pitching contest and the results are as follows:
1st Round
Rich: 70
Covino: 68
Spot: 42 (FYI Spot got out thrown by a little leaguer)
2nd Round
Rich: 73
Covino: 71
Spot: 43
So yes spot is terrible at throwing baseballs. However, to his defense it sound like he wasn’t taking a a real wind up.
To continue the festivities Covino and Rich challenged Spot to a churro eating contest. Spot could only eat 2 so he gets a E for Failure.
Yes, Spot was enjoying this.
The challenges continue with a sliding booth at the Fan Fest. Spot went head first, but didn’t beat the pitch.
During the Home Run Derby C&R again made it in the pages of bushwacker glory. When a ball makes its way towards their seats, Spot, Covino and Rich bring the bushwacker out in full glory, bushwack on guys.
Getting on the in stadium screen and on ESPN gave the guys a huge adrenaline rush. We started today’s shows talking about what that rush feels like. You could be on TV, have a near death experience, meet your hero or even call in your favorite radio station and get on air. The rush is always the same.
Seeing as the show was out on a Tuesday they couldn’t forget about talking a little Pussification of America. We have 3 stories and you guys can be the judge .
1. Mascots are getting sued for interacting with fans. Things like jumping into the stands dancing with fans and hugging fans has been leading mascots to court. Is this messed up or what, these guys are trying to show you a good time and sue them? Find something better to do.
2. 2. We constantly are trying to soften the blow of failure for kids nowadays. Teachers and parents are proposing that the letter E should replace F when a student is give a failing grade, so as to not make the kid feel like a failure. Hey kid do your homework because guess what, you are a failure, no way around it.
3. 3. Strong push for Native American teams to be pushed from sports and replaced with new names. So the Fighting Sioux should be changed but the Fighting Irish is ok. Hello double standard.
So which one of these do you thing is the most pussified. Personally i think there are all equally shitty.
Next up on the show we talked about one of Covino’s favorite topics conspiracy theories. A UFO is spotted over China. While these sighting are usually nothing new it prompted the Chinese government to close the airports close to the where the phenomenon happened. Could it really be nothing? If it is then that’s a whole lot of nothing to close an airport.
A chupricabra was recently found and killed in Texas. I saw a picture of this thing and unless that is the sickest coyote in the world then its definitely real. Check out the picture below.
Las t up on the C&R All-Star show the first of the Mel Gibson tapes begin to emerge. This instantly gives rise to a Mel Gibson vs. Christian Bale remix on youtube. I would say its official, Gibson is nuts.
